Floyd is a tool that allows football officials to ask a machine learning model trained on the rules of football questions and get the answer in real time. An official downloads the app, before stepping on the field he/she clicks on “Activate Floyd”, while on the field when the official says “Floyd” he/she will be connected to the rules expert and can ask any question. Floyd will give the answer and then the official can say “Next Play” and the connection will be disconnected. Then anytime on the field the official says “Floyd” it will connect him/her to the rules expert.
